TeleFun_UserEdit User Manual
----------------------------
TeleFun_BBS, TeleFun_Setup, TeleFun_UserEdit, and TeleFun_LibEdit are
copyright 1993,1994 by Lawrence McClafferty.
These files may be freely distributed provided no charge is made beyond
the normal charge for disk distribution (maximum $5). Any inclusion in
disk clubs, etc. must be ok'ed with the author first (just so I can keep
track of where it is going so updates can be provided).
TeleFun_BBS is being released as shareware with a $50 (US or Canadian,
whichever is easiest for you) registration fee. Any updates are free and
may be obtained from The Black Box BBS at (613) 394-0651.
Getting Started
---------------
To be able to use TeleFun_UserEdit you must first have created the USER.DATA
file with TeleFun_Setup.
Step 1: Run the TeleFun_UserEdit program. The program will go off to the
appropriate directories and get some information about your BBS. You
will be presented with a screen showing you the number of users you
are configured for, the number of message bases, the number of
libraries, and the number of bulletins.
Step 2: Enter the number of the user you wish to edit.
Step 3: The user's account will be presented for you. Choose the item you
wish to edit by selecting the letter associated with that item.

Extra Options:
-------------
When you are asked for the user number you wish to edit, you will also see
some other options.
G - Global Modifier => this option allows you to add or delete access to
any of the message bases, libraries, or bulletins
of all user accounts without the need of going
through each account individually. For example, say
you had 10 bulletins and then you add another one
at a later date and you want everyone to have access
to it. Select G and then select 3 (for Bulletins) and
then select 1 for add. You will then be asked for
which bulletin. Enter the bulletin number and sit
back. TeleFun_UserEdit will go through ALL valid
accounts and set the access to that bulletin to ON
for you. You can also take away access.
P - Print => this option allows you to get a printout of any account (or
accounts) for hard copy reference.
S - Search by name => look for a user by their name. You can enter any part
of their real name or board name. The program will
ask for verification when it finds a match. If it is
not the user you are looking for then select N and
the program will look for the next match.
Q - Quit => exit TeleFun_UserEdit
The rest is fairly straight-forward. I won't bore anyone with long detailed
explanations. Just respond to the prompts and you should be ok.
TeleFun_UserEdit has been written to aid in doing things with the user's
account without tying up the operation of the BBS.
*** NOTE ***
Values entered into a user's account will have no effect if that user is
currently online. This will be changed at a later date so that anything you
edit will happen to that user's account when you save it.
